How to carry the save over

PlatformHow
PlayStation 5Load Game from the full game’s title screen
SteamLoad Game from the full game’s title screen
Nintendo SwitchTransfer from the full game’s title screen

Two hard conditions:

One: the same account. Same PSN account on PS5, same Nintendo account on Switch.

Two: update the full game first. That line is bolded on the official page. It is not a formality.

One more thing: transferring a demo save on PS5 means no trophies. If you want the trophy list, start fresh in the full game.

What ten hours actually gets you

A normal demo runs thirty minutes to two hours. This one gives you ten, covering the prologue plus Chapter 1.

So it answers a real question: is this game worth buying?

It tests three things.

Whether the 3D presentation works for you. The original used top-down sprites; the remake is 3D with animated cutscenes.

Whether the hybrid combat clicks. Real-time Quick Battle plus turn-based Command Battle, with the BP system on top. IGN notes that purists may not like the change, so try it yourself.

Whether the pacing suits you. Ten hours is enough to judge how Estelle’s storyline is being built.

What players report

Reddit’s r/Falcom runs a dedicated demo impressions thread. Players mostly report eight to ten hours, some more.

Some note the Switch 1 version runs well in boost mode.

Others call it one of the longest demos they have played.

All of that is player reporting. The publisher’s only figure is “about ten hours.”

The demo also triggers the save-data costumes

The official Trial page confirms that reading 1st Chapter clear data inside the demo also unlocks the Classic Style SC costumes.

So you can get the costumes in the demo and carry everything into the full release.

For details, see preorder bonus and save data rewards.

What the demo locks out

Viewer Mode: the photo mode from the title screen, full game only.

Movie Mode: also absent from the demo.

Neither absence means the full game is missing features. The official page says as much.

What the publisher has not said

Whether the demo differs on Switch 2 is not published.

Actual play time depends on how much side content you clear and how much dialogue you sit through. Ten hours is the official figure, not a hard rule.

For the full release date and unlock status, see the release date page. For total play time and chapter count, see how long the game is.
