A full remake. The original is 2006's The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC. The visuals are 3D, combat is a real-time and turn-based hybrid, and voice acting expanded from battle-only lines to the whole script. Chapter structure and side quests are close to 1:1.

No. GungHo confirmed the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition uses a standard game card, and that card also runs in a Switch 1 at Switch 1 resolution and frame rate. Switch 1 owners can upgrade for a $4.99 Upgrade Pack.
